Frequently asked questions

My workouts aren't syncing

KeepUp reads workouts from your phone's health store — your watch or fitness app has to write to it first, and KeepUp needs permission to read it.

Android — Health Connect

  1. Make sure your fitness app (for example Samsung Health, Google Fit, Garmin Connect, or Strava) is connected to Health Connect and sharing workouts with it.
  2. Open Health Connect → App permissions → KeepUp, and allow exercise, heart rate, calories, and steps.
  3. Open KeepUp — it syncs when you open the app and periodically in the background.

iPhone — Apple Health

  1. Make sure your watch or fitness app is saving workouts to Apple Health.
  2. On your iPhone, go to Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices → KeepUp, and turn on all categories.
  3. Open KeepUp to sync.

Still missing a workout? Check it appears in Health Connect or Apple Health itself. If it's there but not in KeepUp, contact us with the date and workout type.

How do steps points work?

KeepUp awards points for your daily steps once the day adds up:

  • Only steps taken outside a logged workout count, so a walk or run isn't counted twice.
  • 1 point at 5,000 steps, then +0.5 for every extra 2,500, up to 5 points a day (25,000 steps).
  • Steps don't keep your streak alive — only workouts do.
  • Club owners can turn "Count daily steps" off for their club's leaderboard. Global and region leaderboards always include them.

Days with unrealistic step totals are treated as bad data and don't earn points.

Premium & subscriptions

Restore purchases

Premium is tied to your KeepUp account, so signing in with the same account on a new phone brings it back. On iPhone you can also open Membership and tap Restore purchases.

Manage or cancel

  • iPhone: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → KeepUp.
  • Android: Google Play Store → your profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → KeepUp.

Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel. Deleting the app or your KeepUp account doesn't cancel a store subscription on its own. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google. See the Terms of Use for details.

Reporting and blocking
  • Report a message: in club chat, press and hold the message and choose Report. Pick a reason and add details if you like.
  • Report or block a member: tap their name or avatar in club chat, or use the options next to them in the club's member list.
  • Blocking hides their chat messages from you and stops their nudges and challenges. They aren't told. You can unblock anyone from Settings → Blocked members.

KeepUp reviews every report within 24 hours and removes content — and users — that break our community rules. If you're ever in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services.

Deleting your account

You can delete your account and all its data from inside the app (Account → Cancel account), or without the app from our account deletion page. Deletion is immediate and permanent.
